What a Night! Keeping it Real for Young Drivers
Wow – what a fantastic turnout recently! From young people giving the simulator their best shot (and trying hard not to crash while texting ) to hearing directly from Mark Larkham, V8 Supercar legend, it was a night packed with wisdom, laughs and a few goosebumps.
Mark's tips were gold – eyes up and ahead, sit up straight for control, check your tyre tread – and his three magic words to make driving enjoyable: Be Confident. Be Comfortable. Be Capable.
Our thanks go to the incredible teams from QAS and QFES, and to Senior Sergeant Ken Murray and Constable Tony Fishburn, who shared some hard-hitting truths about road safety.
And then there was Norm and Jared's story – you could hear a pin drop as Norm shared the heartbreak of losing his youngest son. It was a powerful reminder why nights like this matter.
Thank you to YACC, Rotary, QPS & Services, Bendigo Bank, and our very own Principal Mr Damien Burke for pulling together such a meaningful, memorable night for our young drivers and their families.
Together, we're helping keep our young people safe and skilled on the roads.
