Students participate in a 30 minute lesson each week during school time. As they develop their skills, they will join our large ensemble rehearsal on Thursday afternoons from 3.15 pm to 4.15 pm.
Families can choose to bring their own instrument or hire one through the school, making it accessible for everyone.
If your child is curious, passionate or simply ready to try something new, now is the perfect moment to let us know you are keen for 2026. Music opens doors, builds friendships and creates memories that last a lifetime.
Let's make next year our most musical yet!!
Costs involved – Instrument Supplies
- Instruments require various consumable supplies (eg. Reeds)
- You will receive more information about what consumable supplies are required once your child's place in the program is confirmed
Levy
- All instruments are required to pay an instrumental music levy of $30 This is used to cover the South-East Region Instrumental Music Levy, photocopying sheet music, purchasing of new repertoire and other equipment.
Instrument Purchase or Hire
- The school has some instruments that will be available for use by beginning students. Instruments can be hired for the duration of the year for $25. This amount contributes to the cost of repairing and servicing the instruments. School instruments will be distributed as fairly as possible. While every effort is given to provide your student with their first choice of instrument, this is not always possible.
- Alternatively, you may wish to purchase an instrument for your child. Students with their own instruments are only required to pay the $30 levy.
If your child would like to learn a musical instrument, please complete the EOI Form and return to school. Please have your child drop off at the student counter before week 9 Term 4 2025 OR week 2 Term 1 2026. Alternatively you can email Ally Steindl astei43.eq.edu.au
