What makes a good Musical…
- Is it the auditorium
- Is it the lighting
- Is it the voices and music
- Is it the storyline and the actors
It is all of this and so much more and we are so proud of this years students and staff for pulling together such a fantastic experience!
From the very beginning we knew this musical was going to be special. The entire musical was written by students from our very own Stage Production Academy. 3 students prepared the choreography – Brooklyn, Ella and Lilian put their heart and souls into translating the story into movement. Original music by the Songbirds provided the unique sound that this musical required.
All of this has taken time – school holidays, weekends, after school and on public holidays, all given freely of to produce a musical experience that could not be bought.
Live performances can be amongst the most challenging to work to. Things can go wrong. Acting can come off as unnatural or unconfident. It can be hard to impress a crowd…
So it is exceptionally exciting that in front of both schools and community patrons, this year's school Musical The Lost made people smile laugh and get lost in the moment.
Thank you to the dedicated staff including Art teacher Ms De Leon who led the writers, gave up so much of her personal time right from the start and took the role as Director to provide the guidance and opportunity for so many to be involved. The wider staff and support team who ensured students acquired new skills, confidence and the community gained such a positive story to share!
