To help the school day run smoothly, here is some important information about absences, early departures and late arrivals, including how to notify the school and support student safety.
1. Student Absences
If a student is not marked at roll call, parents and/or carers will receive an SMS alerting you to the fact your child is absent.
To avoid multiple automated emails, please reply to the SMS you receive immediately if your child is absent. This will ensure the absence is explained promptly.
If we know your child will be absent and have been advised in time, you wont receive an absent SMS.
Each day at school is important for learning and connection to the school community. If your child is absent, please notify the school using one of the following methods:
- QParents or Compass App
- Email: absences@beaudesertshs.eq.edu.au
- Signed note provided on the next day of attendance
- Phone: Call the school and select the absence line
2. Early Departures
If your child needs to leave school early, please follow the steps below:
Before the school day:
- Discuss the early departure with your child so they can collect an Early Pass Out from the Student Counter during break times:
- Before school: 8:15–8:50am
- First break: 11:30am–12:10pm
- Second break: 1:20–1:50pm
- School ends: 3:00pm
Provide one of the following:

- Email: absences@beaudesertshs.eq.edu.au or via QParents/Compass App before 8:00am
- Phone: 07 5542 9111
- Phone lines open 8:30am–3:30pm
- Message service available outside these hours
- Please provide as much notice as possible
