The Beaudesert State High School Brumbies Experience Day was a fantastic opportunity to welcome future Brumbies onto our campus and give them a genuine taste of what it means to be part of our Academy programs.

We welcomed 107 Year 6 students from neighbouring primary schools:

- St Mary's Beaudesert
- Beaudesert State School
- Tamrookum State School
- Woodhill State School
- Gleneagle State School
- Flagstone State School
- Jimboomba State School
- Rathdowney State School
Throughout the day, students experienced the expectations, culture and training environment of our Football, Rugby League and Volleyball Academies. Students participated in technical skills sessions, gameplay, Strength and Conditioning activities, and challenges, providing an insight into the standards and opportunities available as a Brumby. The Experience Day program was structured around skills, gameplay, a Brumbies Strength and Conditioning Combine and challenge activities.
The 3 R's – What It Means to Be a Brumby
A major focus of the day was introducing students to the 3 R's, which underpin the expectations of our Brumbies Academy:
RESPECT – We value ourselves, others and our environment. Students are expected to communicate positively, listen, support others and take pride in representing their school.
RESPONSIBLE – We stay positive, keep trying and learn from challenges. Being a Brumby means embracing challenges, supporting teammates, responding positively when things become difficult and continually looking to improve.
READY TO WORK AND LEARN – We come prepared, stay focused and always give our best. Brumbies arrive ready to participate, listen to feedback, follow instructions and give 100% effort in every opportunity.
The day was about much more than sporting ability. We want students who live our values, give their best and want to be part of something bigger. The next stage of the Brumbies pathway will involve Academy trials, followed by applications and first-round offers.

A huge thank you to the students, families, primary schools and Beaudesert SHS staff who helped make the day such a success. We look forward to seeing many of these students return for trials and continue their journey towards becoming a Brumby in 2027.
